Secrets in the Desert
Secrets in the Desert is a story within a story. The story teller, Dr. Fred Hanesworthy, is a professor of anthropology, who lives a simple, ordinary life teaching at a Midwestern university, until he crosses paths with a fellow instructor who has just returned from a journey of a lifetime. Dr. Devon Livingston, an archaeologist, agrees to share the events of the last year of her life with him in hopes that he might help her write down the transcontinental adventure she has lived. Together they begin to understand that she is on a quest to find and share a secret within, a secret as old as the desert sands. This is a morality tale, full of adventure, wrapped in a love story.
About Me
Danna Schweitzer, DMin SD
The Author
I’m an author who has worn many different hats on my journey – grew up in a small city in Kansas, attended private schools through high school before marrying a military man in 1965. We moved across the globe before ultimately deciding to go our separate ways. As a single mom for 13 years, devoted my life to raising three incredible children. The journey was challenging, eye-opening, and profoundly shaped the woman I’ve become. In my late 30’s, I unexpectedly found not only new love, but a true soul-mate. Together, we share seven children and seven grandchildren – with four great-grandchildren! I’m now proud to be a farmer’s wife alongside all my other roles.
Although my writing aspirations took a back seat to family for years, I’ve made it priority later in life. But I never dreamed at 10 years old that one of my hobby stories would evolve into a published work of fiction like my debut novel, “Secrets in the Desert”! More life-inspired fiction is on the horizon as I enter an exciting new chapter!”
